Exempt Market - Private Equity Investing
Why utilize the Exempt Market?
Unlike traditional stock based investments that are commonly offered by financial groups, our model uses investments that can provide a more predictable rate of return.
What is wrong with my current investment platform?
Many Canadians are unhappy with the "roller coaster" experience from their stock or mutual fund investments and are looking for more predictable returns. There are a significant number of variables determining the price of a stock on any given day. Alternatively, Private Equity investments have proven to provide consistent returns for investors. This enhanced stability is accomplished by controlling more variables within the investment, which in turn leads to a more predictable outcome.
Why isn't everybody doing this?
Previous to regulation reform, Dealing Representatives were without the formal support channel of an Exempt Market Dealer and subsequently had little to no exposure to this investment category.
The Exempt Market is now a viable option, with Exempt Market Dealerships such as Raintree Financial Solutions who Steinbach Financial uses to source investment options.
They are committed to providing the highest possible level of service and professionalism for their clients.

How do we mitigate risk?
Due diligence is a key priority for Raintree Financial Solutions and Steinbach Financial. A comprehensive risk mitigation process is in place to protect investor capital. A team of analysts, accountants and lawyers collaborate in vetting the investments that make it to the product shelf. The due diligence system is a dynamic process designed to identify the best products available to Canadians.
Steinbach Financial is not financially tied to any of the products we offer. Every investment we market is a third party offering, this prevents any conflict of interest in the promotion of the products we offer. Every product is offered based on its merit, not because of added incentives to promote it.
What structures and asset classes are available?
Investments structures in the Exempt Market include income/yield, both short and long-term growth, and structures designed specifically for tax efficiency.
There is a wide range of assets classes available on the investment shelf including Mortgage Investment Corporations (MICs), Real Estate including land banking, vertical development, farmland funds, and private Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), mineral exploration, and participation in Oil and Gas or Solar Power Production.
How do your investments stack up?
Accepting results that are far less than the desired outcome is nothing less than a compromise. So how does one move from missing the mark to making money?
Tough question, but one we are faced with every time we meet with clients to talk about financial matters. So perhaps we can share with you some thoughts on things we have learned to be true over time.
An investment should provide you a return without taking "time off". Riding out the markets is often the strategy you are asked to employ but it is one that is certain to have a negative impact on your wealth.
What you may find refreshing about Steinbach Financial is that we approach investing in a completely different way than traditional investment firms. We use investments that are proven to provide consistent returns for investors, without taking time off for a "correction".
